In 1971, in Mymensingh 🇧🇩 , a pregnant woman was kicked hard so that the newborn comes out. In image are the bodies of the mother and the newborn baby.
While going through books and papers to write on the 1971 Hindu genocide, I had read mentions of such an incident. At that time I did not know that there was a photo documentation of the incident.

The context: Ashwin Sanghi is reacting to today's Supreme Court order (March 11, 2026) in a suo motu case on NCERT's Class 8 Social Science textbook.
The book had a chapter on "Corruption in the Judiciary" (drafted under historian Michel Danino, who chaired the social science curriculum panel). The SC called it disturbing for projecting a negative image to impressionable kids, banned further publication/distribution, and directed all public-funded institutions to dissociate Danino + 2 associates (Suparna Diwakar, Alok Prasanna Kumar) from any future textbook/curriculum work.
Sanghi highlights Danino's respected research (e.g., his 2010 book *The Lost River* on the Sarasvati) and calls the ruling sad.
