This is a problem with almost all Indian credit and debit cards even today when travelling abroad. They keep getting declined for no reason. Amex too. I would say Amex is the most useless card to hold.

Very true, its bizzare sometimes........Today i just tried using my HDFC mastercard(credit card) for paying subscription for my professional account(/xing.com) . Not sure why the payment got declined(that too just some 60 Euros😬)...... and now am trying to pay thru internet banking and i do not have full info(what HDFC internet banking is asking) for adding payee.....😬😬😬....Still stuck😣
