TVK govt's white paper has boldly diagnosed systemic corruption, which is the elephant in the room. But can the government deliver?
Very interesting perspective by an activist-turned lawyer friend on Facebook. Do read 👇
Itch for Power and Position
Kanyakumari is one of the districts that denied a seat to the TVK, even though its candidates polled substantially. The district is now witnessing the defection of former Congress MLA and BJP entrant Vijayadharani to the TVK. Former AIADMK leader Patchaimal is also seen alongside her.
The biggest loser in this development is the BJP, which had built a significant presence in the district. That mobilisation had begun in the early 1980s.
Whether one agrees with the BJP's ideology or not, it undeniably possesses an ideology that has sustained the Sangh Parivar for over a century. The BJP seeks to reshape the country's political landscape and has never concealed its objectives. When it enjoyed a strong majority in Parliament, it moved to implement key elements of its agenda, including the abrogation of Article 370. It might have pursued the Uniform Civil Code as well had it secured an absolute majority in the 2024 election.
The BJP's growth has been sustained by the tireless and selfless work of countless faceless RSS cadres. Yet many of those who enjoy power and position within the party do not appear to share even an iota of that commitment. The itch for power and position has no cure when ideological conviction is absent.
Many of those leaving the BJP today, including Mr. Annamalai and some of his supporters, joined the party only after it captured power at the Centre. Their commitment appears to be not to the BJP, nor to any other political party, but to personal advancement. Self-promotion, rather than ideology, seems to be their primary agenda.
@j_sandhiya Who are you to say that. Do you know Ambedkar and his ideology in its entirety. Aah.. these days, so called pseudo intellects acting as if they are torchbearers of political ideologies.
@VamsiChandran@shreyas236@dravidasishu Okay. Cleaver of you, putting your own political opinion as perception. You are always a loser da. I have told you many times to learn from your mistakes. There is perception among TN political observers that, Vamsi should not be considered as a political commentator. Loser
Did Latha Rajinikanth start any movement for Tamil Nadu's welfare in the last decade? Did she atleast give any political interviews?
The last time she put out a video was following the Karur incident. Now, she has suddenly resurfaced again to declare that 2021 was a huge miss for her husband.
When Tamil Nadu was under the previous regime, there wasn't a word about missed opportunities, or any political regrets.
At least Kamal Haasan deserves credit for one thing. He formed a party, contested elections, faced the people, and accepted the outcome.
Rajinikanth, on the other hand, spent decades building expectations, repeatedly hinting at political entry, allowing supporters to dream, and then walked away when the moment of truth arrived. The excuses he gave are all on record:
“What will I do with 20% vote share?”, “DMK and ADMK are jaambavaans”
“there’s no political wave, the timing isn’t right”
Politics is not about calculating victory before entering the battlefield.
And that’s exactly where Vijay stands apart. At the peak of his career, with everything to lose and nothing forcing him into politics, he took the plunge. No excuses. No endless suspense. No testing the waters.
He entered the field knowing that he would be attacked, mocked, scrutinized, ridiculed, and written off. Yet he stood his ground and faced the people directly. He walked straight into the storm.
The fact is that, no one in the near future will ever come close to achieving what Vijay did. Once in a generation, a person emerges who transcends the ordinary and reshapes the landscape. Vijay is that rare phenomenon. While the rest can just sit back and weep endlessly out of pure jealousy.
This TRB Raaja handle has become insufferable. Anything happens relating to TN industrial front, he comes up with the spiel on the lines 'this is why we....'
Oh, come on! you guys seem to need some psychological help.
@Summaoruthi Yes.. 70% to the pockets. 30% to the people. I am amazed to see, how so called (psedo-)intellectual ppl completely ignore the corrupt practises of dmk but always speak of only the good things.
