If Jawaharlal Nehru's first five years as prime minister are not counted then our first home minister Sardar Patel was never our first home minister at all. He passed away in 1950, two years before the first general elections. Sounds so silly.
Not sure about that but let me share my experience. When I started a donation appeal in 2022 for families whose houses and shops were buldozed in Delhi, MP etc, I got a call from @asadowaisi, He asked me not to do any donation drive. He said, They'll come after you, as the govt is desperately waiting for an opportunity to go after you. Not because he didn't want people to donate to the victims. But because he was concerned about me, He didn't want me to get into this.
When I told him that the donation amount will directly go to victims account and not though my account. He said, In that case it's fine. But be very careful.
During the last winter session of Parliament the entire opposition was protesting against SIR and other issues in the house. Like always the @AITCofficial MPs were in the well taking lead and protesting fearlessly. I was there and I heard a prominent Muslim MP (not from TMC) shouting at Yusuf Pathan and telling him to withdraw from the protest. Yusuf actually did withdraw and came back to his seat. I saw a change on Yusuf’s face, he was almost shivering. After that MP left, I went to Yusuf and asked him what happened? Why did he look scared? Yusuf told me that this person told him that he should not protest against BJP saying, “what is wrong with you? Why are you protesting against BJP. Khud ko dusmhman keun banarahe ho. They will bulldoze your house in Gujrat.
In the meanwhile @MahuaMoitra came and asked me what had happened. I told her that Yusuf is scared because that individual told Yusuf that BJP will bulldoze his house in Gujrat. Mahua got furious and told Yusuf not to listen to that person, we are behind you, we are one and no one will dare to touch you or your family.
One feels sorry for @MahuaMoitra & @AITCofficial . You had his back but he and his likes stabbed you in the back.
@RuhullahMehdi@AITCofficial Yes sir it was @asadowaisi who was warning @iamyusufpathan remember. What a pity I fought for a gaddar with no courage and no spine. He was better off doing commentary! What a scared phattu…
CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate)
* Sensex: 6,603 → 27,499
* CAGR: लगभग 15.3%
* Sensex: 27,499 → 76,914
* CAGR: लगभग 9.0%
✔ CAGR
✔ FDI
A Litmus test for CJP. In Madhya Pradesh, EC rejected nomination of Meenakshi Natrajan because of discrepancy. In Jharkhand, EC gave BJP supported candidate 24 hours to rectify discrepancy. CJP has Gen Z audience. They need to educate them how systems are compromised. Will they?
Yesterday in the dead of the night, BJP has denied a Rajya Sabha nomination to Former Prime Minister, Sh. H.D.Deve Gowda, deciding to choose its State Vice President Incharge of “Distt Building Construction”, Sh. M.Nagaraja over Ex PM.
The constant humiliation heaped upon JD(S) by BJP and its leadership and its repeated acceptance by Sh. H.D.Kumaraswamy merely for sticking to Ministerial chair at any cost is highly astonishing and eye opening. Further, accepting this insult is an absolute extreme.
LET IT BE RECALLED & REMEMBERED -:
👉 In May 2019 General Elections, BJP’s G.S.Basavaraju had defeated Sh. Deve Gowda.
👉 Then, Congress and Smt. Sonia Gandhi, despite its political differences and respecting his status as Ex PM from Karnataka, extended its support to elect Sh. Deve Gowda to Rajya Sabha as MP.
👉 In fact, Sh. Deve Gowda had earlier said and maintained his strong Opposition to BJP, going to the extent of publicly stating that he will “disown Kumaraswamy”, if he joins hands with BJP.
👉 Despite all these claims, in October 2023, JD(S) & Kumaraswamy entered into an alliance with BJP and Kumaraswamy became Union Minister in Modi Govt with Heavy Industries portfolio.
👉 Now, on 7th June, 2026; BJP denied Rajya Sabha nomination to Sh. H.D.Deve Gowda, choosing its Incharge District Building Construction over Former PM.
This tells us -
POWER AT ANY COST,
POWER AT ALL COSTS … is the one and only moto of JD(S) in Karnataka now.

When AAP arrived - they appealed to the middle class gentry who wanted rapid change . Cong rejoiced and today aap has damaged it the most - the opp parties making the same mistake again - CJP targets the large Gen Z votes - OPP should be worried that this Gen Z does not consider them as an alternative

Actually 2009 to 14 was one of the best innings played by a country in the history of the world if not the very best.
The after math of the global financial crisis was a disaster on the world. Large amounts of liquidity spiked up inflation across the world specially in food.
India emerged the best out of any country, in the world from the gfc.
I challenge you to show me one country that handled the after math better: it is the equivalent of getting 75 runs on a pitch when the rest of the team did not even enter double digits.
There is no perfect economic policy and a lot of things in hind sight look very very simple. When infrastructure growth was required at large scale, private sector jumped in with unviable Business models and of course bad payment records of Government companies and agencies which continues till date by the way.
But that's a different discussion
The fact of the matter is that the performance of our country in the most difficult batting pitch experienced in the prior 80 years since the Great depression, was the hallmark of a great economy.
No wonder that all major Global leaders made up bee line at every single opportunity to speak to our leader then on how best to get out of this mess that the world was in after 2008.
It was nearly a decade ago. DK sir was Karnataka’s Power Minister, and we were on a tour near Ramanagara district. Suddenly, he said he wanted me to see his mulberry farm. DK sir has a deep passion for agriculture and sericulture. He took me to his wonderful farm and walked me through the entire process of silk manufacturing with remarkable depth and mastery.
Today, as we drove from HAL airport to Raj Bhavan for his oath-taking, I noticed his beautiful silk attire and asked if it was from his own farm and factory. He laughed - and had a look that said, “you remember.” 😄
Rarely does politics produce a leader like DK Shivakumar. Rarely does a person pour every waking hour into the pursuit of their calling with such relentless dedication. DK sir means different things to different people, but to me, he is someone I observed for years, learning the nuances of politics and society from him. He always offered a unique insight drawn from vast experience, and each one taught you something substantial. My early years in politics were spent travelling the length and breadth of Karnataka with him, and it was an enormously enriching experience.
His loyalty to the party is legendary. He always says, “I was born a Congressman and I will die a Congressman.” Having closely witnessed the pressure the BJP put on him, sending him to jail and tormenting his family, very few men could have survived it, let alone emerged stronger.
In private moments of tremendous pressure, he would tell us, “My blood is Congress. I will never betray my party. Sonia ji is like my mother, I will never leave Congress, no matter what.” That is the depth of love that he carries, especially for the Gandhi family.
Today, his long-cherished dream of becoming Chief Minister has become reality. Knowing him as I do, I am absolutely certain he will be among the finest CMs my state has ever seen. There is no task he cannot accomplish once his mind is set and with a strong team, he will deliver good governance.
Six years ago, fate and opportunity brought me to Delhi. DK sir had just become KPCC President and would often discuss his plans and strategies for winning the 2023 Karnataka election. When I told him I had been called to Delhi, he asked me to come see him. I went to his house, as always, late at night. He said he was very happy for me, and that from that day forward, “You are not my man. You are my leader’s man”. 😄
DK sir, we are happy to see you as Chief Minister. May Karnataka rise under your leadership, and may we win the 2028 election with the biggest majority yet. Much love.
‘Kalaignar’ M. Karunanidhi spent his life fighting for the dignity of the Tamil people, for social justice, and for the rights of the marginalised.
Not just a Chief Minister - he was a writer, a poet, a thinker. He believed in a Constitution that treats every Indian as equal.
My humble tributes on his birth anniversary.
