Daily reminder that REAL MEN want;
- to be held
- to be told that everything will be okay
- to be cuddled and have their hair played with
- to tell their inting teammates to die a horrible death
- to watch romcoms and snuggle with their girlfriend
- to go out on cute dates
As a man, you are expected to;
Always be sure of yourself,
Always be confident,
Always have a plan,
Always be able to protect,
Always be able to provide,
Always be strong.
The truth is, if you want to be accepted by the majority of people, you MUST fulfill these obligations.
But this is the part that people miss.
The majority of people you meet in life do not care about you.
They view you as an asset, not as an actual person.
And why would anyone want an asset that doesn’t do its job?
This is the reason why most people will cut you off when you start to struggle.
Why most partners will leave you when you show weakness.
Why most friends won’t bother checking in on you when they know you’re having a rough time.
But this is where I say fuck them.
You don’t have to always be strong just to keep around ‘friends’ who never cared about YOU anyways.
You don’t have to keep up the illusion that everything is alright so your ‘partner’ won’t go around looking for a new guy.
Because at the end of the day, if they’re willing to leave when things aren’t perfect,
They were never a friend.
And they were never a partner.
They were just someone who was willing to kill time with you.
Have moments of weakness.
Be open about your struggles.
Tell those around you what’s REALLY going on in your head.
Because at the end of the day, we only have one life to live,
And there’s no point in putting on a show that leaves us mentally destroyed just for the acceptance of people who don’t actually care about you.
Just because you’re willing to show weakness doesn’t mean you’re weak.
In fact, it shows strength.
Strength that you love yourself enough that you’re not willing to hide behind a mask just for acceptance.
To be able to accept oneself and show the world who He really is, regardless of the consequences he will face;
This is what it means to be a man.
