The solution to sub-par Star Wars stories due to things like underdeveloped characters, plot holes, or unsatisfying conclusions is not completely abandoning it in fear of the very negative vocal fans.
The solution is actually expanding on those stories with animation, novels, video games, trading cards, and cereal boxes, etc. just like Star Wars has since the very beginning.
We need more of these stories, not less. And the fandom needs to have the patience to let these stories develop - not review bomb them before they even air.
I think it’s clear after this week that Star Wars fans want more, and it’s time to cater to the fans that want to enjoy this franchise, not the ones who have hated it since the special editions nearly 30 years ago 🤷🏻♀️
Hollywood studios are taking cues from TikTok, where fan edits — set to pop songs, packed with filters and neon text — rack up millions of views.
Lionsgate has started hiring the same editors behind viral #SydCarmy and "Twilight" videos to craft official promos, blurring the line between fandom and film marketing.

In 2013, when House of Cards won an Emmy, it felt insane that a tech company pulled that off.
Ted Sarandos quoted Barry Diller:
“TV is TV, no matter what pipe brings it forward.”
Feels even truer now.
@saradietschy My dad was mentioning to me the other day that everyone is his space (health and medicine) moved from posting things on Twitter to LinkedIn. I wonder how true that is for other industries

Today is #HolocaustRemembranceDay, marking the liberation of Auschwitz on Jan 27, 1945. For many Jewish prisoners, like my grandmother Genia Kaplan, liberation did not come that day. Instead, they were forced on death marches as the Nazis tried to erase their crimes. 🕯️
