In March, Brijesh Solanki, a state level Kabbadi player, was rescuing a puppy from a drain when it bit him. He took it lightly and didn't report. Months later, he developed rabies and died.

Mexico faced a major rabies crisis in the 70s-80s, with thousands of deaths annually from dog bites, but became the world’s first country to eliminate dog-transmitted rabies in 2019.

This was achieved through mass dog vaccination (80%+ coverage), public awareness, strict policies, and prompt bite response. Since 2006, Mexico has reported zero dog-related human rabies cases, leading WHO to declare it rabies free in 2019.

In contrast, India remains the rabies capital of the world, with over a third of global deaths, yet the issue barely enters public discourse. Even animal rights groups don't mind discussing humane solutions like sterilization and vaccination, but for reasons unknown, the govt stays silent. Sab muh mein dahi jama ke baithe hain.

In India, following these few survival skills could cut your chances of dying randomly by half :

Don't go to crowded places.

Follow defensive driving. Don't stare, abuse (even with closed glass), or argue with aggressors on the road.

Anticipate stray/pet dogs at any spot. Don't leave your kids out of sight.

Don't walk or drive under electrical wires, especially look for them in the streets before you enter.

Be a socio-political critic, but try not to hurt the ego of any politician, babu, cop, or religious fanatic personally.

Learn 8–10 common phrases of the local language in language-sensitive states if you are planning to stay there for long, or just carry a skull cap.

Anticipate open sewers and manholes, especially on roads you are not familiar with.

Don't stand under giant billboards or flyovers, especially during rains.

Try not to go out at night. If you have to, don't go alone. Especially women of your family, don't care if someone calls you a misogynist.

Avoid nightclubs where Scorpio/Thar-wale urban dehatis are allowed.

Avoid eating out as much as you can, especially street food.

Health insurance is almost a fraud, govt hospitals are in bad shape, and private ones are too costly. So better stay in shape and avoid frequent hospital visits. Run, exercise, eat healthy.

With due respect to the online sentiments, even lakhs of "I stand with Sharmishtha" mean nothing against two random Jihadis' conspiring to hurt her somewhere in India right now.

Consider Kamlesh Tiwari, he was marked and killed four years after his remarks. Nupur Sharma, on the other hand, remains safe primarily because she is closely aligned with the ruling party and has continuous police protection.

If this online movement truly aims to protect Sharmishtha, it should focus on pressuring the state and central govts to provide her with formal security.

And to her parents, if you're reading this, they can't keep her in jail for long. Sooner or later, she'll be out on bail. In the meantime, please approach the High Court for security from your side too. And if you have the means, it's in your daughter's best interest to consider sending her abroad for studies or work.

Indian Army Pulverizes Terrorist Launchpads

As a response to Pakistan's misadventures of attempted drone strikes on the night of 08 and 09 May 2025 in multiple cities of Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab, the #Indian Army conducted a coordinated fire assault on terrorist launchpads, pulverizing & razing them to cinders.
The terrorist launchpads, located close to the Line of Control, were a hub for planning and executing terror attacks against Indian civilians and security forces in the past. The Indian Army's swift and decisive action has dealt a significant blow to terrorist infrastructure and capabilities.

Saw a video this morning of a Dogra man from a border town in Jammu saying, 'We've evacuated our kids, women, and elderly, but the men will stay to assist the Army.'

People living in India's border cities deserve applause. While the rest of us sit comfortably, discussing "tensions at the border" like it's just another headline, they live under the constant threat of war and attacks.

They hear the sirens. They’ve seen what shelling looks like. And yet, they stay. Their presence itself upholds our sovereignty. They open shops, send kids to school, go about life as normally as possible, not because they’re unaware of the risks, but because this is their home and they refuse to be pushed out by fear. Hats off brothers and sisters!
