We are effectively being forced to re-open r/iphone under threat of the Reddit Admins.

So, fine, we’ll reopen, but here’s your two options:

Option 1: Go back to normal operations

Option 2: Only able to share captivating photos of Tim Cook, create love letters etc!

@dandykong1 @RedditMoments_ @OrdinaryGamers @Reddit We encourage you to make your own subreddit, then. Good luck getting even 1/50th of our 3.8 million subscribers on r/iPhone 👍.

We will be reviewing our subreddit lockdowns on the 21st of June.

There is still a strong consensus among the mods to stay privatised indefinitely, but we need to make sure we review the situation on a daily basis to ensure we’re doing the right thing to get the message out.

(Oh, we also want a CEO that doesn’t lie, gaslight and disrespect its moderators and third-party developers)

[iPhone & iOS News @iPhoneiOSHub]

This message from @ChristianSelig about sums up what we ALL want.

We aren’t expecting Reddit to completely roll-back their new policy. We just want more reasonable pricing and a better timeline that actually means third-party developers have reasonable time to adapt their apps.

[iPhone & iOS News @iPhoneiOSHub]

/r/iPhone and /r/iOS are still committed to staying private indefinitely, at this stage.

The Reddit CEO can continue to try disregard all of this, but the rest of the site won’t. We won’t.

@ChristianSelig Thank you, Christian, for all you’ve done for the Reddit community.

As has already been stated, us Mods of r/iPhone and r/iOS stand with you and every other 3rd-party developer being shafted by Reddit’s abhorrent handling of this policy change.

[iPhone & iOS News @iPhoneiOSHub]

Hopefully we will be together again soon ❤️.

Both subreddits have now entered private mode, indefinitely.
