BREAKING MS NOW:
ICE has detained over 500 babies and toddlers under Trump.
On an average day, ICE has 25 children aged 3 or younger in custody, according to joint research by MS NOW and The Marshall Project. https://t.co/JNZlfb7afy
Real talk.
If House Republicans don’t want a weaponization fund, then a few of them can block it by voting no on reconciliation. That’s the leverage.
No press release, no other bill, no discharge petition (DOA in Senate) will do anything.
This is the last leverage point.
Federal agents killed two American citizens in Minneapolis. Tear-gassed and brutalized families. Detained thousands of children and pregnant women.
How do Republicans respond? At nearly 5AM they passed $70 billion more for ICE, no questions. No reforms. No accountability.
Here's the truth: ICE and Border Patrol already have funding. Republicans want to hand these agencies $70 billion *on top* of the $150 billion they received last year. And they’re using this money to tear Nevada families apart.
That's funding that could go toward lowering monthly health premiums or power bills, or providing school lunches for our kids. Nevadans are struggling with high costs, we should be focused on that.
Senate Republicans just voted to give billions more of taxpayer money to Trump's lawless ICE operations. The American people deserve a govt that puts them first. Today, Trump & his rubber stamp Republicans once again failed them. My full statement ⬇️
I’m leaving the Capitol now at 530am after 19 hrs of votes where Senate Republicans passed $70B for ICE/CBP with no accountability after killings of Alex Pretti/Renee Good and no reforms after chaos at Delaney Hall. Zero dollars to help your family pay bills and high gas prices.
Ossoff: Freedom is rare. Stretching back beyond the horizon of recorded history, most humans who have ever lived have lived at the mercy of lords and masters and kings.
But we're a nation founded on the rejection of kingdom. We're a nation founded on the radical idea that all human beings have a natural right to liberty.
Republicans are set to reward the agency that has racially profiled, assaulted, illegally detained, and killed U.S. citizens with $70 billion of your tax dollars.
Wow - Cassidy signs onto brief stating, in part: "The Anti-Weaponization Fund presents an immediate and dire threat to our constitutional order and the authority of Congress. Indeed, among other purposes, the Fund is designed to compensate the insurrectionists who stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6th. The existence of the Fund strikes at the core of Congressional authority and our Constitutional order"
Tomorrow, Republicans are forcing through another $70 billion for ICE and CBP.
Legal residents still locked in detention camps. Businesses closed. Parents grabbed from their kids.
Yet STILL NO REFORMS.
@SenTinaSmith: "This is not how our democracy is supposed to work."
Per Dems on the Senate Budget Committee, who cite OMB data, as of the end of April 2026:
Of the $75 billion given to ICE in the Big Beautiful Bill, $63 billion remained.
Of the $65 billion given to CBP in the bill, $37 billion remained. https://t.co/oo5tzOaQa8
