Normally Apple's app ecosystem is ready out of the gate, but with Android establishing native foldable support back at the November 2018 Android Dev Summit, iOS on the iPhone Duo still has major catching up to do.
That multi-year software runway, later cemented by Android 12L, proves how much groundwork was already in place for large screens and multitasking before Apple entered the space.
Tim, who has experienced the film storm, observed the iPhone Duo after folding it 10,000 times and simulated the screen crease condition after multiple years of use. Here are the before-and-after comparison images: 1/2
The iPhone Duoβs nano texture display dramatically reduces glare and minimizes the crease but Appleβs matte display doesnβt offer the perfect blacks and richer colors of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 8βs glossy OLED sceeen. Which do you prefer? #iPhoneDuo#apple#phone
Ummmβ¦ HELLO, iPhone Duo?! π₯΄π±
Apps arenβt even adapting to the full screen yet! π Apparently, this will be fixed with iOS 27.1. First-gen problems, I guessβ¦ π
But knowing Apple, developers will likely jump on board pretty quickly! π₯π. Video for @Mrwhosetheboss
There are people criticizing iPhone Duo about the application display. It's not Apple's fault.
The developer should update it to support it by itself. And believe me, there are so many people who order, many apps will do it to support it themselves. Don't worry. It's unlike Android that was released a long time ago, but it's still the same.
Apple just showed how its own apps look on the foldable iPhone Duo.
When you open it up, it basically turns into a small iPad, with sidebars and the dock moved over to the right side.
There's no Face ID inside, and the selfie camera hides under the screen.οΏΌ
