BREAKING: Tinubu Didn’t Ask For Presidential Yacht – Spokesman

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's spokesman, Tope Ajayi, has clarified that Tinubu did not request a presidential yacht in the 2023 supplementary budget.

The budget had sparked outrage due to the allocation of N5.09 billion for the yacht, among other expenses.

Ajayi emphasized that the request for the yacht came from the Navy, not Tinubu, and questioned the need for such an expenditure, suggesting it had operational reasons.

He also pointed out that budget descriptions can be simplistic and may not accurately reflect the intended use of funds.

He called for better reporting and understanding of budget items related to the State House.
