@Sandeman52 Out of all his disclosed shorts, the short on oracle is valid.
Over leveraged, revenue/backlog dependance on openAI, and imo over exposed to terrestrial ai infrastructure long term... how will they deal with competition from orbital infrastructure?
@InTheAssembly Yes we can appreciate that he sold near bottom in order to manage liquidity, pay STRC dividends and support share buybacks.
Nothing about what he did there was wrong. It shows great management of the company.
@Sandeman52 What if its not necessarily an "AI Bubble" but more of a systemic shift that includes an overvalued stock market and cracks that are woven throughout due to securities backed by potential huge defaults?
@DEXWireNews@daniel_koss Good catch, I must've skimmed over that part of the doc. Still more than enough time to go higher and exit if earnings are good.
Would definitely be 100% out by close of the 5th.
@Coachjv_ I informed the people close to me who hold crypto about the benefit of cold wallets.
At the end of the conversation I've told each one "they have locked up exchange accounts before, when shit hits the fan I hope I dont have to tell you I told you so".
Agree the short-term smart moves can age poorly. In the US-China contest the real constraint isn’t intelligence itself because RSI will create excess of that on both sides. The binding limit is hardware and manufacturing capacity. I would imagine, whoever first turns that surplus intelligence into orbital factories, orbital data centers, and planetary resource bases escapes Earth’s industrial bottlenecks and compounds the advantage permanently. I can't get behind the big differentiator being who is smarter in 2027–30, IMO it will be who owns the off-planet industrial base first.
This is the same pattern that made offshoring to China look smart at the time: today’s solutions create tomorrow’s bottlenecks, and the still-unknown industries of the future that solve those bottlenecks will most likely define the next generation of that mistake or its avoidance.
Yeah I never said anything against owning both. I own both myself, I just prioritize bitcoin(including XRP + SOL) more than I do gold.
If you have more conviction in gold than you have bitcoin, great, I’m glad you have conviction. Many people blindly follow others nowadays and end up losing much more than they would by just doing their own research.
Bitcoin is already treated as a commodity, though. And longevity by itself has never been enough, plenty of historical monies lasted centuries then lost monetary status once better alternatives appeared.
In a true systemic collapse the harder questions tend to be portability, verifiability, and resistance to seizure or capital controls. Physical gold wins some of those; a bearer digital commodity wins others.
Interesting.
If we run with the China-crisis scenario and it really does take everything down with it, the point you made on gold is valid. But I’m also wondering, in the reordering that would follow, is it possible Bitcoin ends up becoming the stronger neutral reserve asset than gold over time?
It’s clearly more volatile right now, but that gap feels like something that could compress as liquidity deepens and more balance sheets start treating it as actual money rather than a risk asset.
Of course these situations are more hypothetical than anything, but I do have genuine conviction in Bitcoin over gold at some point. And historically, crashes of that scale have acted like highways that force these transitions in world systems.
I was living in hopeful delusion that the U.S. entered this war with intent of weakening not just Iran's nuclear capabilities but indirectly weakens Israel's power. All while stealing Iran's commodities.
Not that I was hopeful for any of this, it was more so how could they do what would be best for the long-term interest of the U.S. if they were to stay in this mess.
@SelfRelianceOS@NoLimitGains@garyvee I was originally going to just let it be for the very reason @NoLimitGains wants the engagement.
But slandering someone is never okay. Especially when they have actually made an enormous positive impact on youth, and continue to do so.
