A guy texted a babe on this app to come and chill with him in an apartment. The babe told him to pay for her hair, lashes, and clothes worth 85k. The baba sent 100k. The next day she told him that her stylist has increased money for her hair and asked him for extra 30k, he sent it. She blocked him after that. Una dey do things o.😭😭
Unrelated, but I met someone who left the UK and came back to Nigeria to open a lounge. In less than seven months, he had fired over 23 people. His workers kept finding new ways to steal from the business. I asked him why, as a computer specialist, he hadn't used technology to reduce theft and improve controls.
In his words:
“Nigeria is where technology comes to die.”
Cabin crew told me that there are always more wheelchairs on flights going to and from India and others carrying large amounts of Indians (think Toronto to London to take a connecting flight from London to India) than other flights.
It’s because Indians like the extra service and attention it gives them. It’s a product of Indian culture and the caste system. Indian flights are notoriously challenging for Western cabin crew (or indeed any non-Indian crew) because the customers are so demanding and, frankly, treat the staff terribly.
Other flights to completely unrelated destinations are routinely delayed due to Indians occupying all of the wheelchairs at airports. If there is no wheelchair available for a genuinely disabled person when their flight arrives, it delays the unloading of that flight and makes that plane’s next journey delayed as well.
Basically, Indian culture is causing severe delays around the world. As India becomes wealthier and more Indians can afford to travel, this problem is only going to get worse unless airports start refusing to let non-disabled people use wheelchairs.
I use 20 hours to thank God daily that I didn’t invite people who would bring our wedding video here 😭😭 I was a complete mess that day. I was irritated with everybody, I wasn’t even smiling. They told me to kiss my husband and I refused. Just imagine those videos had made it here? People would have started saying I was forced into marriage or that my husband was ignoring obvious signs. 😂
I was genuinely stressed that day. My mum wasn’t in Nigeria, both my sisters weren’t in Nigeria, and I missed them so much. I was already emotionally overwhelmed, and honestly, my emotions took over.
Then to crown it all, my friend made an UGLY bridal gown for me. 😭😭 Please, let’s give people grace abeg. You never know what someone was going through behind the pictures. 😭
We spent months tracking 5,467 bets from Nigeria's biggest sports betting influencers.
The bets were worth ~$4.8 million.
We wanted to answer a simple question:
If you followed their bets exactly, would you make money?
The answer is no.🧵👇

Directly and indirectly, I’m an employer of at least 200 youths and women, and I don’t pay anyone less than ₦200,000. They genuinely enjoy working with me, and the feeling is mutual. Out of over 5,000 applicants, of course I saw some qualified and talented candidates. But I wanted more. I honestly felt that many people didn’t put enough effort into their initial 30-second applications, which is exactly why I decided to give everyone another opportunity to do it again and show me what they’re truly capable of. Nonetheless, the goal remains the same: to find the very best people, give them an opportunity, and build something great together. Na gaba tuni yayi gaba !
