I'm thrilled to have participated in this huge effort led by @pascal_title, Sonal Singhal and @dan_rabosky to integrate thousands of natural history observations, collection-based trait data, and genomics to unravel a macroevolutionary singularity in the snake radiation.
Our new paper is out in @ScienceMagazine! By exploring the rich genetic diversity of Brazil, we show how fine-scale genomic analyses reveal that this diversity, rooted in Indigenous ancestry and centuries of complex demographic history, plays a key role in population health.
Toxins, fights, astonishing navigation skills, elaborate parental care, crazy gen & phenot diversity, stunning colours, worrying diseases... Our @evoecology SI on #poisonfrogs (broad sense) is finally in the making! Follow this 🧶 to see the published studies as they come out 🔽
Join us Monday at noon Eastern for the next talk in our GREG Seminar Series!
Matheus Januario Lopes de Sousa will present "Can we bridge micro- and macroevolution? Insights from vertebrate comparative demography."

A new study reveals that an egg-laying species of worm-like amphibian nourishes its young with a lipid-rich, milk-like substance.
The findings report previously unobserved behavior and offer new insight into the species’ parental care and communication. https://t.co/TP5XwNmNfw

Among other things, the sheer scale of the data required developing data visualization solutions that we're really proud of. We're thrilled that Science allocated so much space to the manuscript's figures!
