Behind the scenes with my partner in music and in life, Mdu finding the perfect chords and sharing some laughs.!
We are officially locking in and finishing up the final details for my 3rd studio album! I am putting my whole heart into these tracks for you.
I am deeply humbled and thankful to the Mzantsi Jazz Awards for the 4 nominations for my album “Okae Molao”🙏🏿The album mainly addresses the GBV issue and also “Molao” (The law) as a whole, we definitely need “Molao” (The law) now, more than ever. Thank you for the support🎼🎶🎹🔥
Much patience is needed to build anything of lasting value, and the time spent waiting is never wasted—it’s where we get better, stronger, and more refined.
Good things take time, but the finest art takes a little longer. Masterpieces aren’t rushed...🖤
it has been over ten years since l last released a full album. In that time, I’ve lived, I’ve grown, I’ve taught, and I’ve gathered so many new stories to tell.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your patience. I can’t wait to share this next chapter!
Connecting worlds through melody and tongue. 🌍
I’m often asked why I sing in so many languages, and the answer is simple: to find the common heartbeat we all share. This Portuguese + African set with @Mduduzi_Mtshali was a highlight of the Portugal Council event. 🇵🇹✨
Today marks a special day, and I would like to extend my gratitude to Yahweh for life 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🎂🎂🎂. Also, this time last year was a pivotal moment for me, as I released this body of work. We need law enforcement now more than ever, #okaemolao#jazzpiano
Happy Birthday to my partner in music and in life, @Mduduzi_Mtshali ! 🎹♥️
Most people know you as the brilliant maestro on the keys, but our children and I know you as the steady heart of our home. We love you Hlabangane!♥️
There is a profound sense of purpose that comes with sharing my gift.
I find myself so deeply inspired by this exchange. To see my students take the lessons, find their own rhythm, and begin to walk their own path is one of the greatest rewards of my journey.
Music has been my greatest teacher, my healer, and my constant. ✨🎤Looking at the woman in these photos from the ‘Your Love’ live recording, I see how much I’ve changed and evolved, but my heart remains the same. I am grateful for the journey.
Mastering the balance.💫
Recently sat down for a deep dive into the journey so far @hughs_jazz_club ( thank you for this opportunity.) One of the most frequent questions we get is how we balance the delicate dance of being life partners while maintaining a professional standard.
Never be afraid to be a student of your own craft. 📖 🎤✨
Here’s a BTS of me still learning ‘Open Your Heart’ while @mdumtshali1 guides the ship. He’s meticulous, demanding, and exactly the producer I need to keep growing. It’s a delicate dance of perfectionism and joy.
Spending my Sunday looking back to where it all began. ✨ ‘
‘Uthando Luphelile’ started a conversation with all of you years ago that has never really stopped.
And now, I’m ready to write the next page.
Chapter 3 is quietly taking shape…⏳
Throwing it back to the night a dream became a reality.
Receiving the Metro FM Award for Best Jazz Album for Essence of My Soul remains one of the most special moments of my journey.
Thank you for walking this path with me since day one.
Sunday is for the soul, and nothing feeds mine like these musical conversations with my partner @mdumtshali1. Bringing you a little ‘Malaika’ magic today. 🎤🎹❤️
