Gem from @shreyas Relevant for all roles where forging long term partnerships is key. Give credit first - share the spoils if you shared the battle.
Also, inclusive xfn product demos are 10X richer. eg: leverage prod mktg for customer voice, design for highlighting key choices
Because PMs are often presenting at exec reviews & all-hands, it is quite common for prod mgmt to receive disproportionate credit for work done by other functions. PM leaders must proactively combat this tendency because it kills morale, credibility & hampers future collaboration
8/ Getting balance indicates a patient investment in team culture, effort in aligning teams and showing repeated successful performances. Could trigger a self-sustaining virtuous cycle where improved performance feeds to improved cohesion and vice versa.
1/ I've been trying to understand what makes some teams work well together over long runs. Came across the concept of cohesion and it made sense to me.
Cohesion - how well can teams work together, while keeping their productivity balanced with their emotional health?
7/ High Social , low Task cohesion : Potential dysfunction, group think , productivity declines over longer term. Okay for short bursts for example a cooling period after an intense production phase, or recovering from major team changes (ex: loss of a leader)
@johncutlefish They are the necessary information bridge that helps cross the "gap of alignment" between expected outcomes and the actions we take towards those outcomes
