The late firefighter and paramedic Richard Garner was well-known for giving back to his community here in Madison. On Sept. 9, the annual Richard Garner Memorial Ride will raise money for scholarships for young people entering the fire and EMS fields.

Fire Fighters Local 311 and the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin hosted over 60 elected officials, city staff and community leaders from across the state. They were put through fire and EMS scenarios, allowing them to live a day in the life of a firefighter
