@g__j Feel really let down by Octopus Energy Services Limited on my solar/battery journey. I feel no option than to pull out of the green install after signing for a Telsa Powerwall and 12 panels, but later being told that I can only have 8 panels.
The team insist they cannot install over roof vents, despite being told at the initial sales pitch, this was not an issue. It will make my roof look like some sort of solar patch work and only generate 2/3rd of the original estimated energy.

@alexellisuk The light is a 10W RGB garden light I had spare, set to give out red and blue light. Not the best of grow lights, but does work ok when you start your seed so early in the year and there is not enough daylight hours.
@alexellisuk Mcp3008 a/d converter and 4 op-amps. 2 measure voltage, 2 measure current. The rest are calculated values of power and energy. MOSFET controls charge battery or disconnect when full. The rest is in software. Dot net core running under Docker.
@alexellisuk Here is grafana, on a sunny day last year. By lunchtime, the battery is fully charged, the charge current falls to zero, and the solar voltage goes to about 20V with hardly any load. I didn’t do any write up, but it’s about time to set it up again, so maybe this year.
@alexellisuk The pi logged all the temperatures and voltages to influx and grafana. Was mostly an experiment to see how well it worked. You need a reasonable sized battery to be able to last several days of poor sunshine. I never got more than 10W out the panel, but it was from eBay.
