@CarolineLucas The rest of the world isn't listening to your "message". Pointless virtue signalling which destroys our economic ability to actually do something meaningful about the environmental problems we clearly face. Should have ignored you 40 years ago on nuclear. We should do so again.
The single biggest strategic mis-step in the UK of the last three decades (and there have been many!) is not investing early and massively in cheap energy generation. It began with the greens successful anti-nuclear propaganda in the 80's but every single backbone-free government since is culpable. Given the ministerial appointments this week it doesn't look likely @andyburnham and the new government will do anything at all about it.
@psomkarbuilds My take on this has changed. Yes, they're not just at risk, they're gone. Completely! However I now think by the time it happens (which won't be very long) it won't matter.
Levelling down is such a depressing mindset. Destroying aspiration. Removing, not providing opportunity for all and not just the 'privileged'. Diminishing growth. And ironically affecting the most affulent schools the least while closing dozens of small unique schools. For no apparent benefit whatsoever. The very worst of ideologically driven policy. 'Spiteful' is the least of the appropriate adjectives.
@bphillipsonMP When there is no rational financial or educational benefit in your actions, and they are implemented in the most callous and damaging way possible against people 'not like you', then we're left with few other motivations but blind ideology.
