As a teacher, this time of the year, after prelims is hard for pupils & parents. I wrote a piece offering some advice and opinions from the teachers point of view. Give it a read & share
Beyond the Red Pen: Helping Your Child Bounce Back After Mock Exams https://t.co/x6qzU1W2us
Being a father is hard. You sometimes have to let your children make mistakes and see how they rebound from them. You cannot protect them from everything.
This is what i told my son after i let him drink apple juice after brushing his teeth.

@KennyPallas@AmandaMGoetz I live in Scotland. With 8 days you can see the whole of the country. I would look at 2 days each on Glasgow and Edinburgh. Possibly drive the NC500 up to Loch Ness/Inverness (definitely see Oban) back down through Aberdeen & Dundee (1 day each).

@GraemeMcDowall@dnleslie Many of the nations that use B teams in competitive leagues have won international competitions & produce a consistent level of elite players.
How many of them played in B teams, I don’t know. Correlation does not imply causation, but it’s an interesting anomaly.
@dnleslie@GraemeMcDowall Players can make more fitting carpets or becoming a plumber. If we can’t keep players in the game and give them the footballing education that they need to become truly elite, then we’ll never compete.
B teams & a more comprehensive player loan structure could help resolve this
@dnleslie@GraemeMcDowall Although Armstrong was playing SPL football with Dundee Utd, Christie with ICT, McGinn with St Mirren (all reaching/winning cups) so hardly “lower league”.
Robertson had one season in the Scottish championship
Outside the SPL we don’t have many full time clubs.
@dnleslie I think that’s why B teams on the lower leagues make sense. Spain, Holland, Germany, Portugal.
All nations that have gone on to international success. Develop your own players, invest in youth. That’s the way to close the gap between the clubs and improve the national game
@dnleslie Employing a “homegrown rule” will just see Scots players named as unused subs, or bigger clubs signing up the better players in the league, increasing the gap. Luba need to be incentivised to develop their own.
@dnleslie Other successful leagues have B teams in the lower leagues. This allows teams to develop players from their academys. We seem to be against this in Scotland
If clubs cannot develop players in meaningful games, they buy players from other leagues that are ready for the first team
Why did nobody tell me about @bughunterbug and @NarcissistCook before?
Just heard them for the first time on Spotify.
Tickets booked to see them in Glasgow with @GailMcCarron
Awesome music, check them out!
