@Ridermeister Hi Tom. My son did this paper and saw that the angle size could not be 180 as it wouldn’t form a polygon. So he found the sum of the angles in a polygon with n=23. I think it’s really unfair if they penalize him for this. Hope examiners are still reading your replies!

@missradders @blatherwick_sam However I don’t want them to have to memorise them for exams. I am a strong advocate of formula sheets!

@missradders @blatherwick_sam I don’t think it’s about having outdated opinions. I believe they should know the formulae but as part of a wider skill set which also includes being able to derive, understand, and recognise when it is appropriate to use these formulae.

@Ridermeister @maths_clarkey @missradders I think the level of mechanics is also a big issue. Topics that were at the top end of difficulty on the old M2 course (which most students avoided) are now compulsory for all students.

@MathsNot These grade boundaries continue to be astonishingly low. Will be interesting to see if they rise in the summer! Makes it even harder to predict what grades students will end up with in August 🙈
