Two water desalination facilities in #Kuwait have been affected by attacks, one impacted this morning. On 29 March, the largest desalination plant, West Doha Power Generation and Desalination Plant was impacted resulting in the tragic loss of one worker and damage to infrastructure. Despite these incidents, water services to the population have remained uninterrupted.

Desalination facilities are essential to provide access to public health in Kuwait and the Gulf countries. Damage to desalination facilities jeopardizes hospitals, health‑care services, and the well‑being of the entire population.

I urge all parties to exercise the utmost restraint and respect their obligations under international humanitarian law.
