I READ THIS ON FACEBOOK.

Drove past 2 different highschools within a 5 minute span. One was in our community and the other, on the other side of the line. At 8h10 there was not ONE learner outside the school gate, on the school field or visible anywhere at the one school.

Infact, the school looks almost deserted as everyone is inside, I assume, busy with school work. The other school was almost the complete opposite. Looked like half of the kids still on their way to school, smoking a last entjie before they get settled in.

The 1 school literally only had 1 matric learner fail last year and the other school had somewhere in the 60% pass rate. 2 different schools, 2 different mindsets, 2 different outcomes.

Teachers can teach till they blue but little will change until OUR kids change their attitudes and mindsets. All schools try, OUR kids need to try harder.
