I love many of the mythological films, but I was never satisfied because the way the epics are written and the way they are shown on screen, the scale doesn't match. Like they have to be much bigger. They have to be much grander. There is something more in the epics that are written that can be shown on screen. That was my thinking right from the beginning. So now I have a chance. I have to show that scale. I have to show that grandeur. Not just grandeur in scale, the emotions of those characters are also, like, larger than life, like big. So I was telling myself, okay, all those years you are not satisfied with how those characters and scenes are shown. Now what are you going to do? How are you going to show them? So that's the challenge for myself. So that is the reason I would say #Varanasi is the most ambitious film ever. ~ @ssrajamouli
