This didn’t start with a brief or a pitch. It started late one night with a conversation about work, taste, and why so many things today feel forced or overdone.
One side of the table brought years of experience and pattern recognition. The other brought fresh energy and a different way of looking at things. In most situations, you’re expected to choose between what’s proven and what’s new. But the longer we spoke, the clearer it became that the most interesting answer wasn’t on either side. It was somewhere in between.
That space is what became BETWYN. [Located in Nagpur, India]
It wasn’t a name first or a brand first. It was a feeling not needing to be loud to be noticed, not needing to be edgy to feel current, and not leaning on nostalgia to feel familiar. We wanted something that felt balanced, intentional, and easy to sit with.
Every decision that followed from colors and fonts to spacing and layout - came from the same question: does this feel honest, or does it feel like it’s trying too hard?
Because BETWYN isn’t really about coffee. It’s about what coffee makes possible. Conversations that stretch longer than planned, pauses that feel comfortable, and moments that sit in between.
We didn’t do a loud launch. We built it quietly and let people discover it in their own time. That felt right.
Sunday morning well spent.
15 creators, founders, and brand builders came together to talk about building brands for 2026 - with honest questions, open discussion & lot of curiosity in the room.
I try to keep these sessions interactive and approachable, because that's what helps learning.
Grateful for feedback like this after today’s workshop.
22 days to build a brand the city fell in love with. 🗓️
When we started working on Matra, we weren’t just designing a logo or picking colours. We were building a world. A world that feels warm when you walk into it. A brand that feels like someone you want to get to know.
Not too serious, never boring, and always intentional.
We went deep into the idea, the personality, the story.
Everything you see from the cushions in the store to the invite design, from the tiniest bit of merch to the language used on packaging was thought through, argued over, laughed about and finally loved.
That’s how we like to build at @Thinkin_Birds
We don’t separate identity, in-store experience, or communication design. It all has to work together. It all has to feel like it came from the same brain and heart.
Matra is proof of what can happen when you treat design not as decoration but as personality. If you are ever in Nagpur, do stop by for a coffee.
How does your favorite brand make you feel? Because branding is how a brand makes you feel.

An extraordinary B2C product designer will be an extraordinary B2B product designer,
BUT,
An extraordinary B2B product designer might not be an extraordinary B2C designer
It is easier to build for the savvy once you have built it for the masses.
There are 1.13 billion websites in the world as of Feb 2023.
82% of them are dead.
Guess why?
Most of them were dull and failed to get any traction.
Here is how to build a website that is impossible to fail 👇👇👇
Building world class startups require world class talent.
Attracting & retaining world class talent requires a world class mission.
It is interesting how money stops mattering after a point and a lot of highly talented people leave an organisation just because of a lack of an ambitious goal/mission.
