To my people in most towns outside Accra, I get that you guys love to party till morning. But as a performer, my energy is at its highest level until about 1 a.m. max. Any moment after that, my body starts to shut down (which is natural). So I’ll plead with you guys to try to have me on stage much earlier so you can get the best out of me. I be tired performing around 4 a.m. in the morning … that is not normal for the human body 🙏🏿

The 43-year-old is one of the UK's most senior finance leaders, in charge of the financial governance of the Bank's £1 trillion balance sheet and funding reforms.

The BoE executive director topped the 2026 Powerlist, which recognises the most powerful people of African, African Caribbean, and African American heritage in the United Kingdom.

From the first black female to graduate from Johns Hopkins School of Medicine's neurosurgery program, Dr Nancy Abu Bonsrah, to the first Black woman to complete a residency in Urology at Columbia University in New York since its founding in 1754, Dr. Denise A. Asafu-Adjei, to the first Black woman ever to win the Miss Grand International, Miss Abena Akuaba Appiah.

These remarkable women are not only pushing the frontiers of modern global history, but they are also flying high the flag of Asanteman, Ghana, and Africa with dignity, excellence, and grace.
