I read somewhere "ese ko Inkotanyi zatwomoye, zo zomowe na nde?" and try to feel it then asked myself if we really give Inkotanyi the flowers they deserve. π
Please meet Mr Christian Songa Ngabo, @chrisongabo 26yr gen-z, born and bred in Kimironko. Humble beginnings, inspiring story, big dreams.
He is the founder of @IsokkoApp, a start-up, innovative on-demand delivery platform connecting people to groceries, food, and essentials from local stores in Kigali, while creating flexible jobs through Isokko agents. Payments are supported via MoMo, Apple Pay, and Cash on Delivery. Its him and 2 partners. The app started Dec 2024. It has registered gross transactions of around 150 million frw. He is looking for investors. He spent time with my colleagues today exploring how we can help.
Download on the App Store and Google Play. π·πΌ π·πΌ s in the π¬π§ π¬π§, you have another digital shopping assistant, right here.
@IsokkoApp employs 18 full time and 500 pay per task agents- ordinary people who scout for, upload new and on demand goods and locations. If it gets investors and expands per plan, Ngabo is sure of >100 full time jobs and, >5000 agents. @IsokkoApp intends to expand beyond Kigali, asap. Whether investors will get good returns, "Most certainly", Ngabo says, "it is good, sure business".
Ngabo studied at IFAK Kimihurura (IFAK muli heheeπͺ), applied aggressively for university and North Carolina's Guilford Uni admitted him for Computer Science, with a total of 80% scholarships due to good grades. He completed in May, 2022, interviewed with Wall Street's Morgan Stanley for a job that August and was hired the same day, after they liked an app he had built earlier in his 2nd year.
Due to immigration process hiccups he wasnt able to continue to work in US; but he was deployed to Morgan Stanley's Budapest Branch. This hiccup also made him miss an admission to Harvard for his masters. Will he pursue it, when he sorts out things? "That will depend on our digital entrepreneurship journey". "Our Bill Gates, Elon Musk"? I ask. "No, we will be ourselves. Our country invests so much in the youth and in IT. Together with many others in the IT Sector we will claim our own place"
On what will give @IsokkoApp satisfaction, Ngabo replies; "financial security, 10,000 jobs in Rwanda before am 35".
