One day you're defending your bank with your full chest.
Next thing, your salary is entering somewhere else.
A tiny thread.
Back in 2021, one of my friends refused to let me rest until l downloaded @OPay_NG.
Every conversation was:
"Have you downloaded it?"
"Just try it."
"I promise you'll like it."
I eventually downloaded it just so she'd stop asking.
Used it once.
Forgot about it.
Then cash scarcity happened.
What a period.
ATM queues everywhere.
POS agents charging like they owned the CBN.
Even accessing your own money became stressful.
One evening I needed to send money urgently and my regular bank wasn't cooperating.
I remembered I had @OPav_NG.

Opened the app.
Sent the money.
Done.
That was probably the first time I thought, "Okay... this app is actually solid."
After that, I started using it more often.
Buying airtime.
Paying bills.
Sending money to friends.
Nothing major.
It just became part of my routine.
The funny thing is, I never had one big moment where I decided to switch.
It just gradually became the app I reached for first.
Then one day HR asked if anyone wanted to update their salary account.
I surprised myself by choosing OPay.
Looking back, it wasn't a difficult decision.
Trust isn't something you build overnight.
Sometimes it's just using an app over and over again without issues until one day you realise it's become your default.
My friend still reminds me that she was the one who forced me to download it.
I don't even argue anymore.
She won.
