@1stgenmoneymuse Worked at a foundation administering grants to nonprofit. Completed Data Science for All Fellowship in 2020 and immediately landed a role on the data team for one of the Big 3 record labels.
I literally study your favorite artist & culture for a living using data 🔥😩💫
Former DS4A Fellow. Learned about the program because of @teneikaask_you
Immediately following the program I was hired as a music data analyst for THE biggest music record label in the world.
I am forever grateful for her wisdom and sharing opportunities.
I was in one of her lil meetings once where she said she was dropping free info once and remember when she used to bash @teneikaask_you about the data science for all and anapalan programs. Saying “literally nobody has ever gotten a job from that…etc etc” nasty work #mtbf
@DefiDiscovery@teneikaask_you Do not put a period where there is a semicolon. The beautiful thing about pivoting into tech at this moment is there are MULTIPLE points of entry. A closed door is absolutely NOT the end of the story. There are plenty of programs producing similar results. Just keep swimming ❤️
And the next tweet I see is @dscottdegeest continuing the good fight to bring underrepresented groups into the tech fold! We’re so grateful to have you advocating and making connections 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I work to jumpstart the data careers of people from historically excluded groups.

@dscottdegeest@CorrelationOne@teneikaask_you I appreciate you both so much for what you do for the tech ecosystem. You all are truly changing lives AND changing the landscape of jobs for the better. Forever grateful to know you both!
Oh look. Another DS4A alum who can speak to the value of @CorrelationOne and the vibes that @teneikaask_you puts down.
Let's go.

I feel like we need to have a testimony Tuesday or something where we all just flood twitter with tweets about how @teneikaask_you blessing us! She is a true 💎!
@sthrnNgorgeous@teneikaask_you Thank you! Life-changing. I secured a dream job that is as dope as it sounds. I JUST mentioned how helpful @teneikaask_you is to me and reaching diverse audiences to my vp earlier this week.
Hey #DataVisualization folks? What are some resources and classes to improve your skills? Color theory. Best practices. Chart placement? Tips and tricks.

Learning data analytics via coding is basically learning how to drown gracefully.
At some point it clicks that you haven’t actually died and your seemingly erratic leg & arm motion combo is working. Then, you find your rhythm. #DataAnalytics#DataScience#BreakingIntoTech
Love the days when the only thing I have to do is run my code across large data sets. The pocket of down time is refreshing (literally my brain needs the breaks) #BlackinTech#DataAnalyst#MusicDataAnalyst#Coding
@KanikaTolver @PacoHatesYou Creating project is still a controlled, simulated environment (still very very helpful and important). In my analogy, the equivalent of projects would be med students practicing on each other. Residency is real patients in a real but still teaching environment.
@KanikaTolver And just like medical profession the application of the material is just as essential. So, I think there are number of ppl who mastered learning the material but is struggling with the application (which req a different set of skills)
@KanikaTolver I think lying is a strong word. Everyone fluff their resumes in EVERY field. I think difference falls in the nature of tech work. Learning the material is only half of the battle. Unlike med students, there’s no residency program to help with the APPLICATION of the material.
