A man will visit his intending in-laws for the first time and the mother of the girl would have already prepared a meal for him, the house clean and everywhere in order. Infact, he's treated as a king in the girls place.
But when she visits her man's, that's when his mother will bring out broom and starts sweeping the room. Infact that's when they start cooking(and the meals are usually pounded yam to punish you well well)or washing the clothes. They don't care how far she has gone on the road to see them, they expect her to enter kitchen and help with the meals or collect broom from Mama's hands and sweep the house to prove wife material.
To be a woman no easy at all oh!🤦🏾♀️
Men and women can never have equal rights from part of the world. Some things has been fixed in terms of education, freedom of speech and finance but when it comes to societal bias on provision, domestic work, virginity, cheating and marriage talks, we will never have same rights.
This is the bitter truth.
I don't know how men do it but I can't have a man I'm not married to sleeping in my house for more than three days without losing respect for him.
Even if he's the spending while in my place, I prefer he spend a day or never to preserve the respect I have for him.
You'll never find me in any settings that starts with "i trust we're all adults" and "free entry for ladies".
I'm not adult enough for the kind of things that'll happen there and I believe nothing is free even in freetown. If you don't pay with your money, you'll pay with your body and you're not supposed to get angry when someone touches you the way you don't like there because the question will be "what are you now here for?" if you vex.
Some men are big pretenders. He might like her but acting up when he's with his girlfriend.
I know this because I have experienced it. My friend could swear her man h@tes me but at her back, this man was chyking me up. When I turned him down, he went ahead to tell my friend to cut ties with me because he has a bad feeling about me.
I didn't bother to tell her because I know one way or the other, she'll find out on her own and I'm glad she did at one point in their relationship.
Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if Adam didn't eat that apple. Would God have sent only Eve out of the garden with her knowledge of evil and good?...would that have made women the upholders of wisdom while men oblivious of what evil and good is?
Or would he have just destroyed Eve alone and created another woman. Honestly, I really would have loved to know.
Years ago, my brother called me one evening and told me to stop by his place after work that he has something for me.
It turned out he got his babe a new phone but she rejected it because it was an Android. He didn't argue or try to persuade her, he just called me and offered me the phone. Excitement wan finish me then because that was like the latest Samsung series.
Days later when her eyes has cleared probably someone must have told her the value of the phone she rejected, she called him back for it but he told her he already gave it to me. She insisted he collect it from me but he stood his ground. She ended things with him because of that reason.
I'm still using the phone despite acquiring a new one because of the bitter sweet memories attached to it.
At the expense of being called a settings babe today, please stay at home, learn something productive, watch movies or better still sleep at home. Too much availability kills respect.
They won't see you finish if they didn't see you at all.
Recently, I cut off a friendship of three years because she never compliments me at all even if it was obvious I deserved it.
At first I thought it's her normal way of life but as time goes on, I realized she compliments other people as well, even people that are not as good as me but totally ignores me. Even when I achieve something, she never congratulates me but whenever there's a critique about me, her voice is always the loudest in the room.
Some people are not your friends, you just don't know yet.
There's one thing about having a 10/10 dad that I have come to realize.
If you're the type that her father spoilt with love, care and provision, it'll be very hard for you to endure in any relationship or marriage because you'll keep measuring all the men you've met with your dad.
But here's the truth: just because your dad is 10/10 to you doesn't mean he was one to your mother. Which means, he can have a perfect dad but not a perfect spouse because the things you see are not the things your mother sees.
I was once a spoilt daddy's girl and still am but my parents never failed to tell me to decenter my dad when I'm choosing who I'm to marry because if given the opportunity to marry my dad, I would see plenty reasons not to but because he's my dad, I may never see them.
The relationship between a child and the parents is entirely different from the one their partners experience and children shouldn't use that as a benchmark to make their life decisions completely.
As a classy babe, there are certain invitations you must not honor.
We live in a generation where there are now tags for absolutely everything, and as absurd as most of them are, you have to consciously avoid certain gatherings to avoid certain tags or disrespect. This is even about your own self-worth.
* Any event where there’s a gate fee or pass and they say “ladies free,” do not go. If you are not paying to be entertained, you are part of the entertainment, I’m sorry. All that “free swimming for ladies every Wednesday” my love, don’t go. You can pay for your own swimming session.
* Anybody, no matter how close you are to them, who invites you to a function or party impromptu and asks you to come with your other female friends has no respect for your time. You should be principled enough to know that inviting your friends, whom they don’t even know, to such a gathering isn’t particularly a good idea.
* Random birthday bashes where they even have to post you with “CONFIRMED” on their fliers, being invited to the studio out of the blue, random invitations to the club, and all those kinds of invites, decline.
* Especially any invitation that has to do with “come with your friends” or “entry for ladies is free,” just pass. You are bigger than those.
Let them call you a difficult or stiff babe, accept it. That is better than being called a “settings babe.”
Again, that tag isn’t a nice thing to refer to anyone, however, that is how a lot of people (read: men) see you when you honor the aforementioned invitations.
I’m particularly talking about ladies now because of the context of the conversation since yesterday. Even as a guy, any settings wey you no dey contribute to in one way or another, avoid am.
Na only who even see you at all fit see you finish.
"Aura for Aura makes the world a sane place"
If you don't give people a taste of their own medicine, how would they ever understand the weight of what they did and learn not to do it to someone else?
As long as I'm concerned, some people will forever be oblivious of how their words and actions hurt unless they're treated the same way.
