This 10 October 2026, Gazelles Corporate Club stands with the world for Mental Health Day under the call #LivedExperiencesHeard (real voices, real change). Too many of us are carrying weight that never shows on a performance review.
What is actually wearing people down is not mystery. Deadlines that never sleep. Money that does not stretch. Care for children, parents, and everyone in between. Grief we were told to “be strong” about. Isolation after the office lights go off. The quiet fear of looking weak if we say we are not fine. Anxiety that sits in the chest on Sunday night. Low mood that steals sleep and appetite. Burnout that looks like competence until it does not. Stigma that still makes a colleague swallow the sentence “I need help.” In our communities, job pressure, family expectation, and limited access to counselling make that silence heavier.
There is a way through, and it is ordinary, repeatable, and human.
Talk to someone you trust before the load becomes a crisis. Rest is not laziness, it is maintenance. Move your body, even a short walk. Eat and drink as if you matter. Limit the scroll that fills the mind with other people’s panic. Set a boundary at work and keep it. If faith or community holds you, lean on it. If the dark thoughts do not lift, seek a counsellor, a clinic, or a crisis line , asking is strength, not failure. Leaders: listen without fixing in the first thirty seconds. Colleagues: check in twice. Clubs like ours: make room for real voices, not only polished ones.
Gazelles Corporate Club commits to conversations that do not end on 10 October. Your story is expertise. You do not have to carry it alone.
If you or someone close to you is in immediate distress, contact local emergency services or a recognised mental health helpline in your country.
