Nobody is denying the work Seth put in to help establish that title. He carried it well, and it became an important championship because of that. But the reality is that for years it was still being placed in opening matches, including at WrestleMania. Even last year, Jey vs. Gunther for the title opened the show.

Then Roman stepped into the picture. He challenged for the title, and it went from opening shows to main-eventing WrestleMania over the WWE Championship. Since winning it, every PLE title defense Roman has had has closed the show.

That's not a coincidence. Whether people like it or not, Roman brings a different level of star power. At some point, you've got to give him his flowers and acknowledge the impact he's had.
