it just makes everyone burn out and quit playing at some point. the amount of dialogs and the time you have to spend to finish a quest is ridiculous. a skip button would solve a lot of things.

no one has to know the lore/story they can just skip & enjoy the other aspects of the game. a skip button should be there. if you enjoy the story you can read it through. as we all can see having a skip button or not doesn't change anything for the people who will not read it.
