and no, nobody is saying that the lives of dogs are less important than the lives of humans. but if you pull up cases focused on animal rights and human rights, there has always been more outrage and systemic support for the former rather than the latter. stop kidding yourselves.
One more thing on stray dogs: I am not a pet owner, but that doesn’t mean I want to murder dogs.
But, but: there is something very disturbing (purely my opinion) about a society that takes out candle-light march for dogs than for, say, men who die after being forced to lower themselves in sewers.
Indian elites are so very capable of organising at lightening speed when it comes to an issue that is close to their hearts. So why then is this country in such a rotten state?
