Simple steps to grow spiritually this week:
1.) Read 5 chapters of the Bible daily.
2.) Pray in the Spirit for at least 1 hour
each day.
3.) Listen to one sermon daily.
4.) Pick a day of the week and go on a fast.
5.) Be sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
6.) Avoid godless Chatter.
7.) Fellowship with other Believers.
8.) Flee every appearance of evil.
One of the quietest guys in my office resigned last month.
Nobody really noticed him like that. He doesn't wear expensive clothes, hardly gives his opinions, and doesn't even post anything on social media.
While others would post about their accomplishments on LinkedIn, this guy doesn't care about that. On few occasions he talked, he'd just say:
“Forget LinkedIn jor.”
People mostly saw him as one struggling guy trying to survive Lagos. Others even think he's unserious with his life by being quiet and not making new connections.
On his last day, our manager jokingly asked him:
“So where you dey go now? Hope say no be another small company.”
That was when we found out he was relocating to Canada.
A fully sponsored job, with a far better salary than almost everybody there. Accommodation was also already sorted.
The silence in the office that day was something else.
You see...
People don't understand that not everybody advertises their life while building it. And the fact that someone is silent or not flashy doesn't mean they're not progressing.
I don’t expect much from unbelievers when it comes to understanding prayer. But what’s disheartening is seeing how many Christians have developed a shallow view of what prayer really means and what it does.
Prayer is not a ritual or a religious checklist, it’s how we communicate with God. It’s an intimate conversation between a child and their Father.
Yet today, you hear statements like, “We’ve been praying all this while, it’s time to try something else.”
Such words reveal a misunderstanding of the very foundation of our faith. Prayer was never meant to be a substitute for action, nor was it designed to be a backup plan when things fail. Prayer is meant to be part of our lifestyle; constant, consistent, and connected to everything we do.
As you take steps, make plans, and take action, your prayer should remain a constant factor. Action doesn’t replace prayer, and prayer doesn’t cancel action, both must work together under God’s guidance.
Then comes the popular question: “What will prayer do?”
Many expect dramatic signs; fire from heaven, thunder, or instant miracles etc before they believe God is working. But the Bible reminds us that God works in the affairs of men. You may not see His intervention in obvious ways, but He is never idle. He is always at work.
So before we dismiss prayer as “ineffective,” we must check our hearts because one thing remains true: God never disappoints His children who trust Him.
Never allow negative prophecies, dreams and visions rest on you ! CANCEL THEM IMMEDIATELY !
Words are more important than we think. Words are seeds and seeds have life. Snuff the life out of the words God has not said concerning you using the word of God. Some negative things that come to pass that make people say “We said it” were actually not meant to happen. It was failure to speak back that made them happen. PUT GOD’S WORD IN YOUR MOUTH AND SPEAK LIFE ! In Jesus’ name !
