Hi, my name is Esther Ubak. I came all the way from Akwa Ibom State to Lagos for an exhibition, full of hope and excitement, dreaming that this trip would open doors for my craft and creativity.

Last Lord’s day, we had the privilege of gathering again to worship our God, to fellowship with one another, and to be reminded that the God who holds the entire universe together holds us fast and will keep us till the end ♥️.

In the sermon, continuing our study through the book of Colossians, Pastor Adeola centres on the all-sufficiency of Jesus Christ, confronting the false and subtle belief that, while Jesus forgives sins, He is not enough to handle the deeper realities of life.

Drawing from Colossians 1:15–17, he shows that the core struggle of the believer is not overwhelming circumstances, but an insufficient view of Christ’s greatness, a problem that mirrors the error of the Colossian church, where false teachers diminished the scope of Jesus’ power.

The sermon unfolds Paul’s argument in three movements: Jesus as Creator, the Eternal One, and the Sustainer of all things. Christ is the source of all creation, existing before all things and standing outside the limits of time and creation itself. More than that, He actively holds all things together, from the structure of the universe to the believer’s faith, life, and circumstances. This means that nothing, whether sin, suffering, personal struggle, or even national challenges, exists outside His authority or control.

The proper response, therefore, is a life of confident dependence on Christ alone, expressed in prayer, trust, and surrender. True Christian stability and assurance come from knowing that the same Jesus who sustains the universe is the one who is personally holding the believer together.
