Everyone starts talking of 1000 goals, one man made that dream possible. His name is Ronaldo.

Mathematically, it’s hard for Haaland to score 1,000 goals. To achieve it, he must reach an even higher wavelength when he gets to 30, the way Ronaldo did.

The thing is, 40 goals a year sounds achievable for Haaland now, but doing it at 31, 32, 33, 34 and beyond is a completely different conversation. He would have to maintain an absurd level of availability, consistency and efficiency for another 15 years.

And this is where Haaland would have to evolve. He can’t rely purely on the physical advantages he has now. As he gets older, his game would have to become even more intelligent, better movement, better positioning, more ruthless finishing and finding ways to score without needing to constantly rely on his explosiveness.

If he can enter his 30s and somehow become an even more efficient goalscorer than he is now, then that 1,000 goal target becomes a little more realistic. And also, he must be obsessed like Ronaldo.

But imagine needing to do all of that for 15 more years.

That’s what makes Cristiano Ronaldo’s numbers so crazy. He didn’t just survive his 30s, he continued producing at an extraordinary level and kept reinventing himself to remain one of the most prolific goalscorers in football history.

That level of longevity and consistency is genuinely crazy. 🐐

For Haaland to score 1000 goals, he will need to score an average of 40 goals a year until he’s 42.

Again, you people will respect Ronaldo by force.
