Police have arrested 48-year-old Peter Michael Larsen, who allegedly told investigators that he targeted the victim because he was a Muslim and intended to kill him. In a major crackdown on habitual offenders, the Rein Bazar Police, under the directions of Hyderabad City Police Commissioner , invoked the Preventive Detention (PD) Act against two notorious rowdy sheeters — Omer Bin Hamza Al Jabri and Ali Bin Hamza Al Jabri.
According to police, Omer Bin Hamza Al Jabri is involved in eight criminal cases, while Ali Bin Hamza Al Jabri is involved in seven cases. The duo has allegedly been continuously involved in serious offences including murder, attempt to murder, extortion, criminal intimidation, and disturbing public peace and tranquility in Hyderabad city limits.
Police stated that several cases were registered against the accused at various police stations for allegedly threatening innocent residents, extorting locals, and indulging in violent criminal activities that created fear among the public.
Considering their repeated involvement in heinous offences and habitual criminal behaviour, Rein Bazar Police submitted proposals to invoke the Preventive Detention Act to prevent them from further disturbing public order and public safety.
Acting on the proposals and taking the gravity of the offences into account, the competent authority approved the detention orders against both accused under the PD Act.
Hyderabad City Police reiterated that strict action will continue against habitual offenders, rowdy sheeters, and anti-social elements involved in disturbing law and order, warning that no criminal will be spared.

According to officials, Sri J. Ravi Kumar, Headmaster of #ZPHS Ayodhyapuram and also holding additional charge as MEO of Gudur Mandal, along with Sri G. Chandramouli, School Assistant and In-charge Clerk of ZPHS in Mahabubabad district, were trapped by the ACB team.
The accused allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹15,000 from a complainant for processing and forwarding retirement benefit bills under the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS).
During the operation, the tainted bribe amount was successfully recovered from the possession of one of the accused. Preliminary investigation revealed that both officials misused their official positions to gain undue advantage.
The ACB has arrested both individuals, and they will be produced before the Special Judge for ACB cases in Warangal. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway, while the identity of the complainant has been kept confidential for security reasons.
Authorities have urged the public to report any instances of bribery by public servants to the ACB toll-free number 1064 for immediate action.

Earlier, on the 2nd of this month, GHMC authorities had sealed the slaughter house located at the Meekal Mandi citing official reasons. However, the issue took a dramatic turn on Tuesday.

₹33.97 Lakh Cash Found at Inspector’s House After #ACB Trap at #RGIAirport Police Outpost
In a major anti-corruption operation, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has caught two police officials from the RGI Airport Police Outpost in #Shamshabad for allegedly accepting a bribe.
The accused have been identified as Sub-Inspector U.K. Siddeshwar and Inspector Sampathi Kanakaiah. According to ACB officials, the officers allegedly demanded ₹5 lakh and accepted ₹2 lakh as part payment from a complainant.
The bribe was reportedly sought in exchange for filing a charge sheet and for not involving or arresting the complainant’s family members in a case.
Following the trap, ACB teams conducted searches at the residence of Inspector Sampathi Kanakaiah, where they seized ₹33.97 lakh in cash. Property-related documents were also recovered and are currently under investigation.
Both officers have been taken into custody and are being produced before the Special Court for ACB cases.

RO Plant Blast in #Jalavihar Leaves 3 Injured, 2 Critical
#Hyderabad: A powerful explosion rocked a water purification (RO) plant in Jalavihar on Wednesday morning, triggering panic in the surrounding area and leaving three workers injured, two of them in critical condition.
The incident occurred at a Reverse Osmosis plant located on PVNR Marg, which supplies drinking water to nearby localities. The intensity of the blast was so severe that several pieces of equipment inside the facility were completely destroyed, causing chaos among workers and residents nearby.
According to preliminary police findings, the explosion is suspected to have been caused by excessive pressure build-up inside the RO filter or compressor unit. However, officials say the exact cause will be confirmed only after a detailed investigation.
Three workers sustained injuries in the blast. Appulu Naidu and Anji are reported to be in critical condition, while another worker, Laxman, also suffered injuries. All three were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Appulu Naidu and Anji have been admitted to Gandhi Hospital, while Laxman is undergoing treatment at Joy Hospital.
