I have been coding with AI for a while with little or no issues. A few things I've realized:

> working with an existing codebase is better than building from scratch.

> knowledge of architectural patterns like MVC, MVVM, is super helpful in given AI context. Foundational knowledge of architectural basics is important. Algorithmic basics, not so much.

> imitation is better than creativity with AI. You want to create a modal? Supply a reference image, etc.

> after every debugging pass, create reusable documentation as a .md file using this prompt, "based on all our back and forths create a documentation that led to this working solution in .md." after which, copy and paste to your Obsidian vault or preferred platform location.

This is useful for payments and similar integrations.

> ensure you have a local build of your solution (especially a local db) so AI can do a build and test locally before committing changes.

The above are some lessons so far that will boost your productivity coding with AI.
