We believe what we are building at Pewbeam deserves to exist, and we will give everything to bring it to life.
What we currently have is a very small part of the vision. We appreciate everyone building with us by using, paying for, and supporting our product.
I’ve meant to post this for the past couple of weeks.
When I came to Lagos last year, I struggled to find a church, not because there were many, but because I was looking for where the Spirit was supplied.
The two churches I am connected to do not hold Sunday services.
But eventually, I found Burning Hearts Ministries.
At the first service I attended, I realized they pray in tongues for one hour before every proper service.
That was it for me. Once a church prioritizes long prayers, my heart is set there.
But I didn’t know I was just scratching the surface.
For the first time in over a decade, I have found a church and a pastor through whom Who supplies the Spirit supplies it to me every Sunday.
I want you to know my story. For a long time in my Christian life, I have always expended myself for others.
Since NYSC, I was in my mum’s church. I was co-pastoring it.
I kept my fire by immersing myself in the sermons of my fathers in the Lord.
But no one was ministering to me. It was a burden I bore gladly.
But now, Pastor Elvis @ElvisOkhifo does, every Sunday.
I am saying this publicly because I, more than anyone, know what it means to successfully minister Christ.
It is a lot. It means that death is at work in him so that the life of Christ can flow to us as members.
I think two Sundays ago, my spiritual life wasn’t the best that week.
But I knew that if I got to church, I would receive refreshing and refilling.
Guess what? I did. My lamp was flickering when I got to church, but it was blazing hot when I left.
I am saying that Pastor Elvis labors like no other in the Word.
And I believe I can say that because I know a little bit of the Word myself.
Pastor Elvis labors so much. So much.
Apart from spending hours preparing his sermon notes, he asks his wife to read them aloud to him on the way to church just for final checks.
Then comes the Spirit through which he preaches the sermon.
I am always and consistently refreshed, and I am growing.
Should I talk about the integrity and godly sincerity of his life? That’s for another day.
As Paul said, “our boast is this: the testimony of our conscience, that we behaved in the world with simplicity and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God” (2 Corinthians 1:12).
I am saying all these for two reasons.
One, because I am grateful to God for situating me in a local church in which His name and presence are.
Two, because the Bible says, “Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching” (1 Timothy 5:17).
I honor you, Pastor Elvis. You dey try for me, for us.
God bless Burning Hearts Ministries.
FAITH CONFERENCE LAGOS 2026!!!🔥🔥🔥
Funny what I discussed with a few friends on before we traveled for the conference was one of the major points @pst_iren talked about. He even touched things that had been in my heart for a while now. Thank you sir!
