“I love the Lord Jesus Christ. May we strive to see Christ at the center of our lives, of our faith, and of our service. That is where true meaning lies. Until that hour, when Christ’s consummate gift is evident to us all, may we live by faith, hold fast to hope, and show compassion one of another.” –Jeffrey R. Holland (1940–2025)
In Church News Today this Friday, Dec. 26:
A Christmas Eve statement from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints explained that President Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles was hospitalized for treatment related to ongoing health complications. The statement said he was with loved ones during this Christmas holiday and expressed gratitude for the many prayers on his behalf.
Elder Quentin L. Cook of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles shared memories of his mission and first Christmas away from home as he spoke in a Christmas Day devotional at the Provo Missionary Training Center. He invited the missionaries to ponder examples from the Savior’s life to better understand Jesus Christ.
Christmas Day 2025 marked 100 years since South America was dedicated for the preaching of the restored gospel. Throughout the year, Latter-day Saints commemorated the anniversary through music, dance and service while paying tribute to a legacy of faith and hope for the future.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given” (Isaiah 9:6). On this sacred day, may we remember that perfect babe cradled in a manger. He is the reason we rejoice, celebrate, and give gifts today. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is the gift.
Jesus Christ was born, He lived, and He fulfilled His mission as the Savior of the world. He is the greatest gift. As you prepare for a day of Christmas celebration, we invite you to ponder the gifts that Jesus Christ has given you. As you do so, we pray that your Christmas Day will be filled with His light and love and that tonight you sleep in His heavenly peace. #LightTheWorld #ASaviorIsBorn

Perhaps more than any other season, Christmas invites us to pause, breathe deeply, and remember what matters most.
The heart of Christmas is the message of a loving Father in Heaven who sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to bring light into our world and into our individual lives.
For maybe the first time, the Church is not just allowing, but openly encouraging members to use Bible translations other than the King James Version, and it’s going to change how we study the Old Testament next year for two major reasons.
The latest wave of updates to the “General Handbook: Serving in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints” includes an adjustment to a portion about editions and translations of the Holy Bible.
The handbook notes that “generally, members should use a preferred or Church-published edition of the Bible in Church classes and meetings.” In English, that is the King James Version.
The adjusted handbook section also points to examples of English Bible translations that members can consider as they seek to better understand the teachings of the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament.

@lowkiri@justindiaz23@wjz I live in OKC and pcp is VERY popular here. I’ve watched a lady jump naked out of a 2 story apartment window and continue. Attacked and beat a grown man before the police arrived and tried to take her into custody. Took 6 officers with tasers and it was still hard.
