Backrooms is racist film. It’s technically brilliant, but racist. And it’s a shame during a time where Black studies is being eliminated on college campuses because I fear people are overlooking the obvious tropes and racist callbacks the film ridiculously displays.

The Master (1984). Lee Van Cleef is a ninja master in this short-lived NBC TV show, returning to America to find his daughter. Tim Van Patten (later to direct The Sopranos) is his hot-headed apprentice. Bill Conti did the exciting theme music.
Pitched as a rival to the A-Team, the dynamic ninja duo drive around in a van helping strangers in distress, having exciting fights and generally doing all the usual master/apprentice tropes. Only 13 episodes were made and maybe that was enough.
I do my best to try being an optimist in all things, but I have to say if these two crazy kids can’t make it, what hope is there for the rest of us to find love in this world?

I think one of the problems with movies like this is just how expensive they became to make, making profitability only likely in the case of a massive success story for the films. Maybe they need to figure out how to do these things for less budget?
Today is Kevin Castle’s birthday. I know many of you have expressed to me how his death has impacted you, and how many of you miss his presence on social media and his wrestling commentary. The best thing you could do in his memory today, is feed a stray animal.
My whole timeline is literally people who saw this movie already telling me it’s amazing and that they’re upset that it’s gonna bomb. Something seems very off about what’s going on regarding this film, and we will be discussing it tomorrow night on @spitball_media
‘MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE’ has no right being as fun as it is, delivering the first great blockbuster of the summer.

@misfitpatriot_ They’re saying the movie is good, but it’s gonna perform poorly because most younger generations have no interest in it, and they’re not properly marketing it from what I can tell to older adult nails who might wanna go see it for the nostalgia
I’m actually excited to see this, even though it looks completely drenched in CGI, but this was such a big deal when I was a kid that I’m curious. They should be marketing this to Gen X adult males as member berries.
We will be doing a very deep dive on this piece of news on this Wednesday nights episode of our weekly entertainment podcast, which is already stacked with some big stories @spitball_media
@mjarbo Saw all three of these movies in theaters, and his just wasn’t very good. It was OK, but all the hype behind it when it was announced did not live up to the actual film. These other movies are just better.
