My clever #Mummy organised this #hikoi for #homelessness (blondie on right) Youngest female chairperson on a Catholic board too 😉 #payparity https://t.co/6e6iGJ7JwV
@dchengnz@_chloeswarbrick Long-standing MOH failure to address equity and access exemplified by forcing the exit of the most affordable medicinal cannabis come October
The clock is ticking. Anyone on the fence about the #CannabisControlReferendum ? Patient advocate here. Ready and willing to answer questions if you have any for the health perspective 🖐
Thanks @HelenClarkNZ for sharing your views about the #CannabisControlReferendum tonight at St Peters in Wellington. You really helped me with firming up my decision to vote "Yes" - it's clearly a #HealthIssue not a criminal issue for all @newzealand to tackle
So happy #Accessibility legislation has cross-party support, especially in the pre-election / lockdown climate. Our access community will be adversely impacted by level 2 & 3. Why it's take so long to gain traction I'll never understand. Me mahi tahi tatou ❤
This! When people debate inequity in our public health system - it's not a matter of opinion, it's a statement of fact: Maori are consistently failed, all the outcomes are dire for tangata whenua well done @emmawehipeihana https://t.co/SJJBLxw9ZK
@tautokai Thank you for succintly illuminating the point I have tried to convey to my own whānau. I fear more the rampant abuse of those living in the margins, failed by a deeply discriminatory health system than I care for the autonomy of the privileged few
The lack of accessible housing for disabled New Zealanders is an "egregious" human rights issue, says UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Adequate Housing Leilani Farha.
https://t.co/LZhYu7squg. I was pleased to spend time with Leilani talking about housing for disabled people.
It's here! Well done @_chloeswarbrick and @NZGreens for making our dreams come true. For my son and millions of patients throughout Aotearoa, this is a game changer ❤
Yesterday I saw a guy complain about hemorrhaging followers after discussing racial discrimination in Aus. I live with a constant ebb + flow of followers on my social channels. They climb when I do makeup tutorials, dive + abuse when I talk race, gender or disability 🤷🏻♀️#cestlavie
@FinCentrix@RichieHardcore@ZubyMusic Considering we experience more violence+ death by your hands (as do you, both perpetrators and victims of male violence and violent crime) I would say we are collectively failed by systemic inadequacies that are working to a deficit model instead of increasing positive outcomes
On Monday I'm tagging along to meet @golrizghahraman and @_chloeswarbrick with 2 other accessibility advocates to discuss the urgent need for #AccessLaw2020 although this kinda says it all really
