I killed a cricket this evening. The good old-fashioned way too: a light stomp and a gentle crush beneath my foot. Afterwards, I reclined in my chair and went back to staring at the sky. Lost in a daydream, I suddenly felt a sharp sting on my leg. I looked down just in time to see an ant scurrying away. Then I noticed them: a small army of ants carrying away the cricket’s carcass as though they had stumbled upon a feast prepared just for them.

I leaned back again and, for reasons I still cannot fully explain, I thought of every time I had gone out to earn a living only to return empty-handed, every rejection email, every promise that dissolved into nothing, every loss that had accumulated over the years. Then I looked at those ants and saw how effortlessly fortune had smiled on them, and I could not reconcile it. So I crushed every single one of them.

I spared the one that stung me, though. I wanted it to witness what it felt like to lose every member of its family. After I post this, I will decide whether to grant it the mercy of living or send it to join the rest.

@FlintDibble The people mostly criticizing it, me included, is because we have seen Troy and has seen Sean Bean's Oddysey. Some of us, fortunate enough to read the Oddysey andNolan's adaptation was off. From the model of the Trojan horse to the chatty-witty character of King Odysseus.

@sntvizzy Stop defending the indefensible. There was no point. He just did it because it kinda looked cool. The design of the horse took away something important from the myth. It should have been presentable yet crude.

@RisemovieDaily @dfw_ella_ The gods are literally more involved in the Oddysey than in Troy. The Oddysey is about the wrath of Poseidon against Odysseus. Every advenventure was literally against a god or goddess.

I ain't gonna lie. In the Oddysey, the trojan horse immediately put me off. It was too perfect. Too impractical. I was disappointed. I didn't like the Nolan version much.
