Never forget this brave American citizen that turned down getting a Covid vaccine and called out Fauci right to his face on camera.
I still want to buy this man a beer!
Might get hate for this (most people just read a headline and take it as face value)...but, this "$11B Loss" is the estimated additional personal income tax revenue that would have been collected in tax year 2022 if New York had maintained its 2010 share of U.S. millionaires. It has nothing to do with Mamdani, his policies, or anything that occurred after 2022.
Basically, the data calculated how many extra millionaires NY “should” have had if it matched national growth, then applied the average tax liability of actual millionaires in 2022.
For the record, I think plenty of Mamdani's policies are counterproductive...rent control raises prices..."taxing the rich" is a just a politically popular move that gets votes at the detriment of long term growth...but, I also don't like spinning the data without including more nuance that might change people's perspective.
Tom Cruise and Matt Lauer get into a fiercely heated, legendary on-air debate over antidepressants, culminating in Tom's iconic "you're glib" insult.
"Aren't there examples and might not Brook Shields be an example of someone who benefited from one of those drugs? [Tom:] All it does is mask the problem, Matt... There is no such thing as a chemical imbalance."
"Matt, you don't even you're glib. You don't even know what Ritalin is. If you start talking about chemical imbalance, you have to evaluate and read the research papers..."
"You should be a little bit more responsible in knowing what it is because you communicate to people... [Matt:] But you're now telling me that your experiences with the people I know, which are zero, are more important than my experiences."
New: Joe Rogan is shocked when Perplexity AI CEO Aravind Srinivas explains how Bill Gates tricked all of America into becoming office workers:
SRINIVAS: “Microsoft built this concept of the office worker because they wanted to sell office software.”
ROGAN: “Wow. This type of lifestyle is a very recent thing that we’ve just now accepted as normal.”
SRINIVAS: “It was the mission of Bill Gates to put a PC on every desk and get people glued to them.”
ROGAN: “What a freaking wizard. Boy did they nail that one.”
SRINIVAS: “It wasn’t about making computing beautiful like the vision Steve Jobs had.
All they cared about was selling computers so they could sell software. When you sell more software that’s when you become rich.”
ROGAN: “They’re so sneaky man.”
SRINIVAS: “That’s why we all got trained into using Microsoft Word and Excel.
Once you learned that then you could work for a company that has a PC on their desk who’s paying Microsoft money to use software.”
"There's a lot of people
Who have a lot of opinions
But when you prove em wrong
You don't have to say shit to them
Nah
They don't deserve it.
Thank you"
