@Redneck_Caveman@Pirat_Nation Dude, this is a GAME set on an ALIEN PLANET where when you die, your BRAIN WAVES get sent through WiFi to be 3D printed in a new body, I donโt know if youโre really worried about โrealismโ here
Subnautica 2 does not allow players to kill fish or other sea creatures using weapons or tools.
Unknown Worlds developers have confirmed no plans to add lethal combat mechanics in future patches.
Gameplay design lead Anthony Gallegos explained the gameโs philosophy: โThe tone of the game weโre making is that you are here to exist on this planet, not to dominate it.
Youโre not the conquering colonist here. The goal here is not for you to master the world and bend it to your will.โ
Players can still capture small fish for cooking. Defense relies only on tools like flares to distract predators and the multitool to repel creatures.
The studio is improving these non-lethal options in response to feedback but wonโt add lethal tools.
Developers view this as core to the gameโs identity and are not planning a combat-heavy experience.
People are misunderstanding what I'm saying, the Eula is a big nothing burger. There's no reason to panic over the most copy pasted Eula in history. If you can tell me the last time this kinda of Eula was enforced on mass, (and not Nintendo) I'll give you a penny.
Literally the devs will never catch a break ๐ญ
KRAFTON this, then Founder that, Woke this, then Killing that.
Just mod the damn game guys, it's not that fuckin hard.
As someone who has made videos killing all the creatures in the game, even I agree with this approach to the game. Killing things in Subnautica always felt kinda weird from a gameplay loop standpoint? Like, I donโt see how it fits without breaking the loop
The developers of Subnautica 2 want to keep the game non-violent like the first one.
They want players to adapt and live with the ocean creatures instead of fighting or killing them with weapons. This core idea started years ago when studio founder Charlie Cleveland chose to leave guns out of the series after the Sandy Hook shooting.
He wanted the game to feel like peaceful exploration of nature rather than adding more violence to the world.
Even though fans from one country overwhelmingly asked for the chance to craft weapons in the sequel the team says this will be a repeated point of resistance.
One developer explained "I think it's a point of resistance that we'll get repeatedly while making the game though we feel strongly about it."
So players must instead use smart tools evasion and distraction to survive.
