Imran Khan’s vision for Pakistan has always been rooted in the belief that its youth must have the confidence, knowledge and opportunity to shape the country’s future. Freedom gave us the country. What comes next depends on the generation that inherits it.
At Namal University, this belief lives on through young people learning, questioning, creating and finding their own path forward.
This Independence Day, we celebrate not only the freedom we inherited, but the belief and ambition that will carry Pakistan forward. 🇵🇰

It has now been around 1,100 days since my father, Imran Khan, was imprisoned, and my brother and I haven’t heard his voice since March. For months, we’ve been denied contact with him. We remain in the dark about his access to healthcare as his eyesight continues to deteriorate. He urgently needs medical attention, and with no family or legal access, we don’t even get any second hand information or reassurance.
I’ve found myself especially missing him recently. I want to speak to him about mundane things like my cricket, books I’ve been reading and what new movies are good. I understand the people of Pakistan want their chosen leader free, but I miss my father more than ever.
But this is not just about a father. It is about Pakistan, and its future. A rigged, authoritarian regime continues to crush political opposition, undermine democratic institutions, and deny millions of Pakistanis their right to freely choose their leaders, whilst terrorising those who speak their beliefs.
I once again plea to the international community to not look away. Silence in the face of injustice only enables it.
The man who built three free cancer hospitals for this country is being denied even basic eye treatment in the same country. He has almost lost vision in his right eye. I don’t even know what to write.
We have been informed that my father, Imran Khan, has lost most of the vision in his right eye, with reports indicating only 15% eyesight remains. This is the direct consequence of 922 days of solitary confinement, medical neglect (denied blood tests) and the deliberate denial of proper treatment in jail.
The responsibility lies squarely with the regime in power, the Army Chief and the puppets enabling this cruelty. This physical deterioration is happening under their orders, their watch and their responsibility. They have manipulated and warped the justice system in order to keep my father in solitary confinement.
My brother and I are still being denied visas to see our father as his health deteriorates. History will record this injustice.
We urge human rights bodies, legal institutions and democratic nations to confront this persecution and ensure those responsible face consequences.
Even at a time when Pakistan is engaged in an active all out war with terrorist entities, the Establishment wants to spread the juvenile, redundant & rejected narrative of Imran Khan & PTI being the enemies of state. Spectacular lack of judgement & timing.
Never give up, no matter how hard life gets no matter how much pain you feel. Pain will eventually subside, nothing remains forever, so keep going and don't give up. Imran Khan
#HappyBirthdayImranKhan
On his 73rd birthday, our father Imran Khan remains locked in a death cell - 790 days without his family, without his doctors, without his lawyers.
Yet his courage endures. We must not give up, because he never will.
