His mother shielded him with her own body and is stabbed while he hid under the bed, too terrified to move.

Kim Seon-ho has said he still remembers making eye contact with his bleeding mother as she was dragged across the floor. She survived.

But neither of them truly escaped that day. For years, he couldn't read aloud in class without panicking. If a teacher stood behind him during an exam, his mind would go blank. His mother developed such severe trauma that even seeing someone dressed like the robber would frighten her.

The most beautiful part of the story came much later. A friend managed to convince the shy, anxious teenager to try acting.
