Social media works.

A post I shared on etiquette featuring some of my favorite people, on our personal style and grooming, set off a quiet chain of events. Someone saw it, reached out to the Honourable Suhuyini, and asked for my contact.

That someone turned out to be the Promoter of the Ghana International Book Fair, Yvonne Bossman accompanied by her Coach/Mentor, the Publisher of “Courtesy for Boys and Girls”, a book I had long admired. We connected.

Then came something even more significant: His Excellency the President directed the Honourable Minister for Education to procure copies of “Courtesy for Boys and Girls” for use in Senior High Schools across Ghana.

This one is personal. Getting etiquette and social grace into the hands of young Ghanaians has been a quiet ambition of mine, and it sits squarely within the vision of Agenda Reset Ghana, championed by His Excellency himself.

We often underestimate what it means to teach a young person how to carry themselves, how to speak, how to listen, how to enter a room with intention. These are not small things. A nation’s character is built in its classrooms, and the decision to place Courtesy in the hands of Senior High School students is a recognition of exactly that. Etiquette is not incidental to national development; it is foundational to it.

2026 BECE PART II : CHANGE YOUR STYLE

Next week is BECE, a Ghana only activity whose current main relevance is secondary school placement.

As submitted by Eduwatch to political parties in 2024, a nine subject high stakes examination over a week is unnecessary when the core aim is to decide who gets into Achimota School or Kanton SHS.

What is required is maximum 4 papers: Math, English, General Science & General Paper.

The General Paper should cover all other relevant subjects including the relevant language.

Going by the traditional BECE schedule of two subjects a day, this proposed BECE can be completed in 2 days

Benefits: lower stress, about 40% savings on the GHC 120 million spent annually by MoE on BECE.

To be very clear: ON THE UDS MATTER.

When the delegation from Gonjaland approached His Majesty The King, to lobby for their preferred candidate, he made his position very clear.

His Majesty's position was that both Professor Elliot Haruna Alhassan and Prof Mohammed Muniru Iddrisu are his sons.

On that basis, he declared that he had no preference between the two and would not involve himself in the process; precisely because he regards both candidates as his own.

At no point did His Majesty interfere in the process. It is also important to note that, the university has been governed since its inception by non-Dagbamba, its only the past VC who a Dagbana. At no point did you hear any complaints or clap backs from Dagbon. We are the trailblazers when it comes to tolerance and hospitality.
