I’m a firm believer that people’s actions make it clear that they have no respect or regard for you, regardless of what they say. You just gotta realize it & take it for what it is.
“He has childhood trauma.” So do I.
“He’s under a lot of pressure at work.” So am I.
“He’s just overwhelmed.” Me too.
The only difference is that we excuse men’s behavior, and shame women for not carrying it.
The key to living a comfortable life is confrontation and chaos actually. You have to say no. You have to tell people to fck off. You have to be mean in necessary situations.
Don’t ever be embarrassed about your life. We all go through things that shake us, humble us, or force us to start over. Moving back home, losing your job, getting your heart broken, going through a divorce, hitting a low mentally… it’s all a part of being human.
“Be where your feet are.” My mind has a habit of wandering to the past or worrying about the future, so I return to that sentence whenever I feel pulled away from the moment I am actually in.
Girl to girl: get you an older woman to be your close friend. One that you preferably look up to. One that cares. You'll be in awe of the wisdom / femininity / confidence she'll impart on you. Older women are gold. <3
Yes. And that’s the part people skip when they romanticize “the right person.”
The right man doesn’t bypass your wounds. He bumps into them. You do the same to his. The difference isn’t harmony, it’s repair. Both of you notice the rupture, name it, take responsibility, and come back instead of keeping score.
Love like that isn’t calm all the time. It’s resilient.
Every trigger becomes information. Every repair builds trust.
Closeness isn’t the absence of friction. It’s the skill of meeting it together.
